What it Means-

To manage soil salinity, there are various ways, such as increasing drainage, planting salt-tolerant crops, removing salt crystals mechanically, restoring balance with chemical amendments, pre-treating seeds with NaCl, and reducing evaporation with mulch. Fertilizers should be applied rationally to avoid salinization.


        In order to protect their livelihoods and the long-term viability of their agricultural systems, farmers must regulate the salinity of their soil. It has the potential to increase agricultural yields and quality while decreasing water use and preventing soil and water resource degradation. Additionally, it can result in nutrient imbalances, water stress, and toxic effects on plant roots, which lower crop yields and quality.
